I am an Aboriginal woman with extended family living in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara lands and throughout other regions in the far north and west coast of South Australia. My grandmother who passed away recently, was a Kokatha elder.
I grew up in the Clare valley, bought a business in Clare and then moved to the Northern Territory in 1994, returning to Adelaide in 2000, where I have worked with Aboriginal people for the past 10 years.
My grandmother and aunties taught me about the symbols I use and the significance they have, especially to our family.
I am self-taught and have been painting seriously for the last three years and see myself as a contemporary artist using traditional symbols.
